B&A is court reporter–owned: co-owner Sarah Fitzgibbon is a working court reporter who still takes depositions every week. The firm is run by someone who is still in the room.

Certified court reporters for Seattle depositions
In Washington, no one may hold themselves out as a court reporter without a certificate from the Department of Licensing (ch. 18.145 RCW). A state-certified court reporter is authorized to administer the oath (RCW 5.28.010), and CR 28 permits depositions before a certified court reporter while disqualifying anyone with a financial interest in the action.
Every deposition we cover in Washington is taken by a state-certified court reporter who swears the witness, makes the record as it happens, and signs the certification page. Our roster includes reporters holding CCR, RPR, RSR, RMR, RDR, CRR, CLR and CVR credentials. You can meet our certified reporters before you book.
For Seattle matters we provide court reporting services for depositions, hearings, arbitrations and mediations, with rough drafts and expedited transcripts available on request.
Standard turnaround you can plan around
Our standard turnaround is five business days for remote depositions and seven business days for in-person depositions, against a common industry standard of ten business days. That transcript comes from the certified court reporter who was in the room with your witness, not from a recording handed to someone else afterward.
Every charge appears as its own line item on the invoice. The fees we do charge are intentional, and none of them are hidden.
Legal videographers in Seattle
Our legal videography team records depositions, day-in-the-life footage, IMEs and site inspections, and synchronizes video to the transcript so a clip can be pulled by page and line.
Exhibit handling and screen sharing are complimentary when a B&A videographer is booked. Other agencies call us when they cannot run the setup themselves. Recently that meant sourcing the cabling to play video off someone’s phone during a deposition.
Remote and hybrid depositions for Seattle matters
Roughly 70% of our work is remote. We run remote and hybrid depositions on Zoom, Webex, Microsoft Teams and other platforms, with the witness, counsel and the court reporter wherever they need to be.
On every virtual deposition, the court reporter keeps their camera on, so everyone can see that a person is present and accountable for the record. There is no setup fee for remote depositions, and six people on the Zoom does not mean six Zoom fees.
Deposition case management
Running more than one deposition in a case? Ask for deposition case management and exhibits are tracked across every deposition and numbered sequentially, so nobody in the room has to ask which number they are on, and a document that comes back with a later witness keeps its original number. Original exhibits are held until trial. It is complimentary, and on a first deposition in a case we will offer it. There is no archive fee for holding your transcript either.
Last-minute depositions in Seattle: the answer is yes
A deposition noted for tomorrow, an awkward date, an unusual setup, a witness out of state: the answer is yes. Cheyenne, our Client Services Lead, runs scheduling, and the answer when you call is yes.
For depositions outside Washington, we cover you nationwide, with the same point of contact and the same invoice. For that work we secure a reporter certified or authorized in that jurisdiction.

Frequently asked questions
How quickly can I book a court reporter in Seattle?
Call or book online and we will work to say yes, including for depositions noted on short notice. Cheyenne, our Client Services Lead, runs scheduling, and last-minute and awkward-date requests are part of what her team handles. The sooner you tell us about video, exhibits or remote participants, the more of the setup we can have ready before the witness is sworn.
What is your standard turnaround for Seattle depositions?
Our standard turnaround is five business days for remote depositions and seven business days for in-person depositions, against a common industry standard of ten business days. The transcript is produced by the state-certified court reporter who took the deposition. Rough drafts and expedited delivery are available on request; ask when you schedule so we can confirm timing before the deposition.
Do you provide legal videographers in Seattle?
Yes. We provide legal videographers for Seattle depositions, including video synchronized to the transcript for playback at trial or mediation. When a B&A videographer is booked, exhibit handling and screen sharing are complimentary. Tell us about the setup when you schedule, including anything unusual, such as video that needs to be played from someone’s phone.
Can Seattle depositions be taken remotely?
Yes. Roughly 70% of our work is remote, on Zoom, Webex, Microsoft Teams and other platforms, and we also run hybrid depositions with some participants in the room. The court reporter keeps their camera on for the whole deposition. There is no setup fee for remote depositions and no per-person Zoom charge, however many people join.
Where is your Seattle office, and where do I park?
