At B&A Litigation Services, we provide professional legal videography services designed to accurately capture testimony, proceedings, and events with clarity, reliability, and courtroom-ready quality. Legal videography plays an increasingly important role in modern litigation, offering a visual record that preserves not only the spoken word, but also demeanor, tone, and presentation.
B&A has been making the record in Washington since 1980, and the firm is court reporter–owned: co-owner Sarah Fitzgibbon still takes depositions every week. When we film a deposition, a state-certified court reporter is in the room with the videographer, swearing the witness and making the written record as it happens.

Video Depositions
Most of our video work is deposition work. A B&A legal videographer arrives ahead of the start time, sets camera, lighting and microphones for the room, and goes on and off the record with the court reporter so the video and the transcript cover the same testimony. The same setup works in our Tacoma conference rooms, at your office, or on Zoom, Webex, Microsoft Teams and other platforms for remote and hybrid depositions.
Our legal videography services support a wide range of proceedings, including:
- Depositions
- Trial testimony
- Arbitrations and mediations
- Recorded statements and interviews
- Expert witness testimony
- Remote and hybrid proceedings
B&A’s videographers are trained specifically for legal environments. They understand courtroom protocol, evidentiary considerations, and the importance of neutrality and discretion. Each proceeding is captured in a professional, unobtrusive manner that preserves the integrity of the record.
When you book a B&A videographer, exhibit handling and screen sharing are complimentary. The videographer puts the exhibit on screen for everyone in the room and on the call, and the video shows what the witness was looking at.
When Other Agencies Cannot Run the Setup
Other agencies call us when they cannot run the setup. Recently that meant sourcing the cabling to play video off someone’s phone so it could be shown, marked and recorded during the deposition. If your deposition has an unusual requirement, ask. The answer is yes.
Experienced Legal Videographers
B&A works with experienced legal videographers who understand the technical and procedural demands of litigation. Our videographers are skilled in capturing clear audio and video, managing lighting and camera placement, and adapting to a variety of environments from conference rooms to courtrooms.
They are also comfortable handling long proceedings, technical testimony, and fast-paced questioning, ensuring a consistent, high-quality video record from start to finish.

How Attorneys Use Deposition Video
Video testimony allows decision-makers to observe witness demeanor, credibility, and delivery.
Attorneys often use legal video to:
- Preserve testimony when a witness may be unavailable for trial
- Present expert testimony clearly and efficiently
- Support settlement discussions with visual context
- Prepare impeachment or playback at trial
Legal videography is most effective when it is closely aligned with the written record. Our videographers work collaboratively with court reporters to ensure accurate synchronization between video and testimony. This makes it easier to review testimony, prepare clips, and present video excerpts during hearings, mediation, or trial.
Specialized Legal Video Services
Day-in-the-Life Video
A day-in-the-life video shows how an injury or condition affects an individual’s daily routine, filmed with care in homes and personal settings and edited for mediation or trial.
Picture-in-Picture Depositions
Picture-in-picture depositions put the witness and the exhibit in one frame, so the viewer sees the document and the witness’s response at the same time.
Video-Synchronized Transcripts
A video-synchronized transcript links each line of the certified transcript to the matching moment in the video, so you can search by word and jump straight to the clip.
IME Videography
IME videography documents an independent medical examination as it happens. Our videographers do not direct, influence or comment on the examination.
Site Inspection Videography
Site inspection videography records a location, with your experts, before repairs, weather or time change what is there.
Insurance Claim Documentation
Insurance claim documentation gives adjusters, insureds and counsel a neutral video record of a loss for coverage, scope-of-loss or subrogation questions.
Post-Production and Video Support
In addition to recording proceedings, B&A can coordinate post-production services to support attorney needs. This includes formatting, editing, and preparing video for review, presentation, or playback at trial or mediation. You work with one team from recording through final delivery.

Frequently asked questions
What does a legal videographer do?
A legal videographer records depositions and other proceedings so the testimony can be watched later, not just read. At B&A, that means setting up cameras, lighting and audio for the room, going on and off the record with the court reporter, handling exhibits on screen, and delivering video that lines up with the certified transcript for review, clips or playback.
Is a court reporter still needed at a video deposition?
Yes. When B&A covers a video deposition in Washington, a state-certified court reporter swears the witness, makes the written record as it happens, and signs the certification page. The videographer records the testimony; the reporter produces the transcript. The two work together so the video and the transcript can be synchronized later.
Can you film a remote or hybrid deposition?
Yes. Roughly 70 percent of B&A’s work is remote. Our videographers record depositions held on Zoom, Webex, Microsoft Teams and other platforms, including hybrid depositions with some participants in the room and others on the call, and can show exhibits and the witness together in a picture-in-picture layout.
Is exhibit handling included when I book a videographer?
Yes. Exhibit handling and screen sharing are complimentary when a B&A videographer is booked. The videographer displays each exhibit for the room and the remote participants, and the recording shows what the witness was looking at when they answered. If you want exhibits numbered and tracked across every deposition in the case, ask for case-wide exhibit management as well; it is also complimentary.
Can B&A edit the video for mediation or trial?
Yes. B&A coordinates post-production, including editing, formatting and preparing clips for playback at trial or mediation, so the recording, the transcript and the finished video stay with one team from the deposition to delivery.
