Meet our Court Reporter, Teri Simons!

Teri Simons is a fast typer, and in high school she even won competitions! In 1996, she met someone that told her about going to court reporting school. Teri’s interest was piqued, and she began court reporting school at Green River Community College and passed her exam in 1999. Immediately after passing the exam, she began working for Byers & Anderson (now B&A Litigation Services). In her tenure with B&A, she has obtained various certifications, including being a registered merit reporter and a certified real time reporter.

Today, Teri continues to take depositions for us regularly, including court work, CART captioning, real time reporting, and more. As of last month, she celebrated 23 years with our company!  Congrats Teri! In the last few years, Teri has gone back to school to receive her Bachelor’s in court reporting and she has recently obtained her master’s degree in marriage and family therapy.  She is going to continue with court reporting, but she would like to do therapy on the side for individuals and families in her community.

In her free time, Teri is also a judge for the Washington State Cheer Judging Association and spends most weekends from November to February judging high school cheerleading competitions, including the State Competition in February. Teri and her family have recently finished building a home in the mountains in Cle Elum, Washington. She enjoys spending time at the home riding RZRs, various ATVs, and spending time with family.

Teri has a 21-year-old daughter in her senior year at Oregon State University, wanting to become a physician’s assistant. She also has a 6-year-old daughter who has just started kindergarten. Teri looks forward to taking trips in the future, like to Disneyland and going on a Disney cruise with her husband and both daughters.
