At B&A Litigation Services, we provide professional insurance claim documentation services designed to accurately record conditions, damage, and supporting evidence for insurance-related matters. Clear, objective documentation is critical in the claims process, particularly when coverage, scope of loss, causation, or valuation may later be disputed.
B&A’s documentation services help preserve facts as they exist at a specific point in time, creating a reliable record that can be reviewed by adjusters, attorneys, experts, and other stakeholders as a claim progresses. The work is done by the same legal videography team that records depositions, so the video is made with later scrutiny in mind.

Purpose of Insurance Claim Documentation
Insurance claims often involve conditions that can change quickly due to repairs, cleanup, environmental exposure, or continued use of property or equipment. Professional documentation ensures that key details are preserved before they are altered or lost.
Our role is to provide neutral, factual documentation that accurately reflects what is present without interpretation, analysis, or opinion so the record can be relied upon throughout the life of the claim or any related dispute.
Who We Work With
Claim documentation usually happens before anyone has filed suit. We coordinate with the people involved in the claim: adjusters and claims professionals, insureds and property owners, and the attorneys advising any of them. The videographer records for the claim file, not for one party’s side of it, so the same video can be relied on by everyone who later reviews it.
What Can Be Documented
B&A’s insurance claim documentation services can support a wide range of claim types, including:
- Residential and commercial property damage and loss
- Post-incident or post-loss inspections, before cleanup and repairs
- Vehicle or equipment condition
- Supporting documentation for claim files
Depending on the needs of the claim, documentation may include video walkthroughs, focused recordings of specific areas or items, and visual capture of conditions relevant to coverage or causation questions.
Professional, Neutral Videography
B&A’s videographers are trained to document insurance-related matters with professionalism, consistency, and neutrality. Our approach focuses on capturing clear visuals, accurate audio when applicable, and logical progression through the documented area.
We understand that insurance documentation may later be reviewed in legal or adversarial contexts. For that reason, our videographers avoid commentary, staging, or selective emphasis and instead focus on creating a complete, transparent visual record.
We work efficiently and respectfully on site, coordinating with property owners, insurers, attorneys, or other representatives as needed.
Coverage, Scope of Loss and Subrogation
Insurance claim documentation often plays a role beyond the initial adjustment phase. Video documentation may later support:
- Claim evaluations and re-evaluations
- Coverage disputes
- Scope-of-loss and valuation questions
- Subrogation matters
- Expert review and analysis
- Mediation, arbitration, or litigation
By preserving conditions early and accurately, documentation can reduce ambiguity and provide a shared reference point for all parties involved.
If the claim has moved into litigation and counsel and experts need to inspect the scene, see site inspection videography.
Confidentiality and Professional Standards
Insurance claim documentation frequently involves sensitive personal, financial, or proprietary information. B&A adheres to strict confidentiality and data-handling protocols to ensure all materials are managed securely and responsibly.
Frequently asked questions
Why use a professional videographer instead of phone video?
Because the video may be examined later by people who disagree about the claim. A professional record is continuous, steady and complete, with clear audio where needed and no commentary or selective emphasis. That makes it easier for adjusters, experts, mediators and, if needed, a court to rely on the same footage without questions about what was left out.
When should a loss be documented?
As soon as access allows, and before cleanup, repairs, weather or continued use change the conditions. Once a site is repaired, what was there cannot be recorded again. If the timing is tight, call us; last-minute and awkward dates are part of what our scheduling team handles.
Can the video be used if the claim becomes a lawsuit?
It is made with that possibility in mind. The videographer records without staging, commentary or selective emphasis, and the recording is handled securely from the day it is made. If a claim later moves into coverage litigation, subrogation or another dispute, the same footage can be reviewed by experts and counsel on every side.
How is this different from site inspection videography?
Claim documentation serves the claims process: recording a loss for adjusters, insureds, property owners and their counsel, often before any lawsuit. Site inspection videography serves litigation: an attorney- and expert-led walk-through of a scene, with measurements and narration, recorded for use in expert opinions, depositions and trial.
